A pursuit is whatever
A pursuit isn't another obligation. It isn't something you have to do. It's something you choose simply because it lights you up.
Maybe it's learning Italian because it changes the way you see the world. Playing guitar well enough to join the campfire sing-along. Finally figuring out watercolor. Dancing badly just because it's fun. Learning to sketch the mountains you've looked at for years.
Turns out, a lot of us are looking for the same thing.
That's the "Co." in Pursuit Co.: the company you keep. The people beside you at the pottery wheel, the ones you bump into during Zumba, or the people laughing through their first belly dancing class. A room full of neighbors who showed up for the same reason you did.
Life has a way of crowding out the things that make us feel most alive. We're here to help you invite them back
lights you up.
Do your thing, SLC.
We found our pursuit.
Hi, we’re Heather and Teresa. It started with Sunday walks around Sugar House Park and one question that kept coming back: if you could do anything, what would you do? We dreamed out loud about work that brought people together and made our community better.
Then we discovered Salt Lake City’s Community Education program. Classes together became our favorite part of the week: time carved out of busy lives to try something new and be beginners again. Then we learned the district was ending the program after 54 years.
Our first thought was personal: we can’t lose this. Our second was bigger: our community can’t lose this. And then it clicked: we had found our pursuit. We could turn what we’d been dreaming about on those walks into something real.
Between us, we bring backgrounds in brand marketing, software engineering, and building organizations. More importantly, we bring a deep belief that having your own pursuit matters, and the determination to keep that opportunity alive.
We couldn't let it go. So we didn't.
